At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart. Jeremiah 3:17 KJV
German Hacker Breaks Cell Phone Encryption – December 29, 2009
A German hacker claims to have cracked the encryption that protects most cellphone calls, potentially paving the way for others to eavesdrop on conversations. The hacker, Karsten Nohl, says he and a small team broke the encryption code for networks on GSM technology, which makes up more than 80 percent of the world’s cellular networks, to show how vulnerable they are and to make carriers more serious about security. A Christmas Miracle: Mom and Baby Both Come Back To Life – December 29, 2009
A Colorado woman and her baby were brought back to life after apparently dying in labor, observers say. Tracy Hermanstorfer’s heart stopped Christmas Eve while she was in labor and so doctors at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs performed an emergency Cesarean section without anesthesia in an effort to save the baby. The tiny lifeless body was handed to his father, who held his son while doctors worked to get him breathing. “They actually got him started right in my hands,” Mike Hermanstorfer he told KKTV. “That is an amazing feeling.” UPI
Iran Trying To Smuggle Uranium Ore – December 29, 2009
Iran is close to clinching a deal to clandestinely import 1,350 tons of purified uranium ore from Kazakhstan, according to an intelligence report obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday. Diplomats said the assessment was heightening international concern about Teheran’s nuclear activities. Such a purified uranium ore deal would be significant because Teheran appears to be running out of the material, which it needs to feed its uranium enrichment program. AP and The Jerusalem Post
Missionary With Message For Kim Jong Il is Arrested – December 29, 2009
Robert Park, a 28-year-old US citizen of Korean background, reportedly crossed the frozen Tumen river border on Christmas Day. He was carrying a Bible and a letter addressed to Kim Jong-il, appealing for the reclusive North Korean leader to open the impoverished country’s borders to aid, to free political prisoners and close prison camps. In his letter, he says, “I proclaim Christ’s love and forgiveness towards you today. God promises mercy and clemency for those who repent…” CNSNews
China Russia And ‘Pipelinestan’ – December 28, 2009
With some of the world’s biggest oil, gas and metals reserves, Central Asia has become “Pipelinestan” – the focal point of geopolitical competition among China, Russia, Iran and the West, all seeking a share of the region’s resources and, in the case of oil and gas, transporting them via pipelines. India, too, is expected to become more active in Pipelinestan. But it is China that has rapidly increased its clout in Central Asia in the past few years, as it has in Africa. Through big loans, investments, trade, and a willingness to undertake projects others considered too costly or too difficult, China has enlarged the sphere and scope of its influence. The National
China’s 245 MPH Supertrain Unveiled – December 28, 2009
China on Saturday launched what it described as the world’s fastest super high-speed train. The new bullet train runs at an average speed of 217 miles-an-hour, and can reach up to 245 miles-an-hour, cutting the 1,068 kilometers (664 miles) journey time between Wuhan in central China and Guangzhou in the country’s south (a business hub near Hong Kong) from the original 9 hours to about 3 hours. Christian Girls’ Abduction And Forced Islamic Marriage in Egypt Documented – December 23, 2009
The phenomenon of abduction, rape and forced Islamization of Christian girls in Egypt was shown for the first time on the Christian TV channel “Life TV”, which broadcasts from outside Egypt and has nearly 60 million Arab-speaking viewers in Egypt and around the world. The testimonies of the victims and their families came as a shock to many, including Egyptian Christians, since this issue is taboo for the Egyptian media, “Our role is to expose those behind those crimes,” said Rasheed El Maghreby, the program’s moderator. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” –James 1:17
A variety of consequential things occurred in 2009. The swine flu spread around the globe. Businesses failed and people lost their jobs and the governments of the world tried to spend their way out of recession. We saw many stories of slaughter, nuclear proliferation and dead celebrities. These are not the only things that happened in 2009. There were good things too, and we’re going to focus on them as we celebrate the successful completion of one more year on the planet.
In January: - One thousand people gathered at a Harlem church to pray for Israel. The Senior Pastor of the Bethel Gospel Assembly, who organized the event, also invited Israel’s Consul-General to New York Assi Shariv to attend the prayer.
- An US Airways Airbus A320 bound for Charlotte, NC crashed in the frigid Hudson River shortly after takeoff, and except for a pair of broken legs, all155 passengers and crew escaped with minor injuries. The incident became known as the “miracle on the Hudson.”
In February:
- America celebrated the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth (which took place on February 12, 1809), remembering the tall, lanky man who loved true liberty, who dreamed in his day “of a place and time where America will once again be seen as the last, best hope on earth.”
- A Gallup poll released just in time for Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday (the same day as Lincoln’s) found that a mere 39 percent of Americans said they “believe in the theory of evolution.”
- Benjamin Netanyahu was asked to be Israel’s next Prime Minister after an extremely close race with Tzipi Livni. Netanyahu is a conservative well known for his commitment to a unified Jerusalem and his support for Jewish settlers.
- In Operation Cross Country, the FBI and police rescued 48 teen prostitutes, some as young as 13, from illegal sex trade rings in a sweep in which 571 suspects were arrested.
In March: - The annual Christian Youth Film Festival was held at the Fox Theater in Bakersfield, California. Joe Brown, the youth pastor at Heritage Bible Church, started the festival 15 years ago to give kids a creative outlet for their energy, one in which they create films on any topic (in line with a Christian world view.)
- Stephen Baldwin, the youngest of the famous four Baldwin brothers, slammed the garbage coming out of Hollywood. He told CNSNews.com that Hollywood’s constant violence, vulgarity, and anti-family fare lead to all sorts of social decay. He added that pro-family films sell well and encouraged more conservatives to make their way into the industry.
- Physicist Bernard d’Espagnat won the Templeton Prize for his concept of a “veiled reality” – one that lies behind the world that we can touch and see. His work in quantum mechanics involves experiments that demonstrate that the essence of reality goes beyond merely the three dimensions that we can directly experience.
In April: - Americans rallied at “Tea Parties” on capitol steps across the country on April 15, inspired by Rick Santelli’s famous speech made from the floor of Chicago’s CME Group. (For Americans, a “tea party” is a cheerful idea. It brings to mind the great glory of a bunch of grown men dressing up like Indians to toss the East India Company’s tea into Boston Harbor. It’s the fleshing out of a great “Huzzah!” to standing up against mad taxation and unfair political decisions. It bellows out a love for freedom and for self-government. )
- Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas phoned new Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to offer him wishes for a good Passover. Netanyahu’s office called the conversation warm and friendly, and both men spoke of their interest in cooperation and peace.
- Dozens of Diplomats walked out of a UN anti-racism conference after Iranian President Ahmadinejad described Israel as “totally racist”. While this isn’t good news for Ahmadinejad or the UN, it shows that Israel has at least a few friends in the world.
- Israel celebrated its 61st Independence Day on the 5th of Iyyar (April 29 this year) marking another year of Israel’s successful survival in a hostile world.
In May: - The 58th annual National Day of Prayer was held on May 7th. Cities and churches throughout the nation held prayer gatherings to recognize God’s goodness and to thank Him for the many blessings He has poured on America. Millions gathered to seek His guidance and protection for our national and local leaders, our communities, and our families.
- Gallup released a poll showing that a majority of Americans now consider themselves “pro-life.” This is the first time the majority has swung to the “pro-life” position since Gallup began tracking the data 15 years ago.
- Gideons International celebrated a century of ministry. On May 31, 1899, two Christian businessmen decided to band Christian commercial travelers together for the Lord’s service. By making Bibles readily available in major venues like hotels and hospitals, these businessmen offer hundreds of millions of people access to a Bible at least some point in their lives.
In June:
- The people of Iran took to the streets to protest the results of the questionable Iranian elections despite the vicious backlash of the authorities. These protests demonstrate that the Iranian people are willing to stand up against tyranny, even at serious personal risk.
- Stephen C Meyer’s new book Signature in the Cell became available, showing that new discoveries about DNA provide modern scientific support for belief in an Intelligent Designer.
- What is believed to have been an ancient Christian hideout was found in Israel’s Jordan Valley. The 2000-year-old underground refuge may have served as a Roman army base or monastery or hiding place for Christians.
In July: - Scientists from the University of Manchester found cell-like structures in the skin of a hadrosaur, giving these scientists a view of the cell structure of dinosaur skin. Dr Phil Manning, Senior Lecturer in Paleontology at SEAES called the discovery “absolutely gobsmacking.”
In August: - Texas high schools offer Bible literacy classes as the school year begins, in accordance with a 2007 Texas law finally going into effect. As expected, plenty of people criticized Texas for weakening the Church-State boundary, but others praised the state for working to brick-in an essential part of high school education in teaching “students knowledge of biblical content, characters, poetry, and narratives that are prerequisites to understanding contemporary society and culture.”
In September: - About two million students met at their schools’ flag poles for the 20th See You At The Pole prayer gathering and asked God to bring moral and spiritual awakening to their campuses and countries.
- Judge M. Case Rodgers ruled Sept 17th that Pace High School Principal Frank Lay and Athletic Director Robert Freeman did not violate a 2008 agreement with the ACLU when Lay asked Freeman to pray over a luncheon for Pace High’s Field House dedication. Rodgers said the prayer was spontaneous, and there was seemingly no intent to violate the order. The men could have faced up to six months in jail and $5,000 each in fines if the judge had ruled differently.
In October:
- Abby Johnson, the director of the Bryan/College Station, Texas Planned Parenthood, switched sides in the abortion debate in the middle of the 40 Days For Life prayer campaign. After having worked at the abortion center for eight years, Johnson’s heart was moved for the unborn, and she resigned her job on October 6. The 40 Days For Life campaign started in Bryan/College Station five years ago and has spread across the entire country.
- The FBI rescued more than 50 teens forced into prostitution and arrested 631 people, including 60 pimps, on state and local charges. The sting took place in 36 cities over 72 hours as part of the Innocence Lost National Initiative.
- Brianna Cardwell wore a T-shirt with the word “abortion” crossed out and handed out literature during non-class time as a part of the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity sponsored by Stand True Ministries. She was told by her assistant principal at Randelman High School in North Carolina to stop her activity and cover up her shirt. The school has since backed down after a pro-life legal group stood up for Cardwell’s rights.
In November: - Louisiana’s Choose Life License Plate Fund donated $64,421.20 equally to 20 agencies that actively help pregnant women and women with babies in need. The license plate fund has been a huge help to pregnancy centers that offer women alternatives to abortion.
In December:
- A simple Jewish home from the time of Jesus was found in Nazareth, giving archeologists more insight into what it may have been like to live there when Jesus was a boy. “They say if the people do not speak, the stones will speak,” smiled Father Jack Karam of the nearby Basilica of the Annunciation.
- Five-year-old Natalie Flores was rescued on Christmas Day, seven hours after having been abducted from where she was playing at her apartment complex in Phoenix. That evening, Officer Mike Burns saw a truck that matched the description of the one driven by her kidnapper, and the local law enforcement were able to chase him down and rescue the child unharmed.
Happy New Year to everybody, in the name of Jesus the Messiah, the great King of the Universe.

How could a loving God send sinners to hell? He doesn’t. They
volunteer.
Once there, they don’t want to leave. The hearts of damned fools
never soften; their minds never change. “Men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory”
(Rev. 16:9 NKJV). Contrary to the idea that hell prompts remorse, it
doesn’t. It intensifies blasphemy.
Remember the rich man in torment? He could see heaven but didn’t
request a transfer.
He wanted Lazarus to descend to him. Why not ask if he could join
Lazarus? The rich man complained of thirst, not of injustice. He wanted water for the body, not water for the soul. Even the longing for God is a gift from God, and where there is no more of God’s goodness, there is no longing for him. Though everyknee shall bow
before God and every tongue confess his preeminence (Rom. 14:11), the
hard-hearted will do so stubbornly and without worship.
There will be no atheists In hell.
(Phil. 2:10-11), but there will be no God-seekers either.
But still we wonder, is the punishment fair? Such a penalty seems
inconsistent with a God of love-overkill. A sinner’s rebellion doesn’t warrant an Eternity of suffering, does it? Isn’t God overreacting?
Who are we to challenge God? Only he knows the full story, the number
of invitations the stubborn-hearted have refused and the slander they’ve spewed.
Accuse God of unfairness? He has wrapped caution tape on hell’s porch
and posted a million and one red flags outside the entrance. To descend its stairs, you’d have to cover your ears, blindfold your eyes, and, most of all, ignore the epic sacrifice of history: Christ, in God’s hell on humanity’s cross, crying out to the blackened sky,
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matt. 27:46). The
supreme surprise of hell is this: Christ went there so you won’t have to.

For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
“In prayer; expect setbacks, but refuse retreat.” Richard
Eastman
Do your best, bring out the best in others,
Don’t tell the Lord how big the problem is,
tell the problem how Great the Lord is!
Proverbs 15:32
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
See here, 1. The folly of those that will not be taught, that refuse instruction, that will not heed it, but turn their backs upon it, or will not hear it, but turn their hearts against it. They refuse correction (margin); they will not take it, no, not from God himself, but kick against the pricks. Those that do so despise their own souls; they show that they have a low and mean opinion of them, and are in little care and concern about them, considered as rational and immortal, instruction being designed to cultivate reason and prepare for the immortal state. The fundamental error of sinners is undervaluing their own souls; therefore they neglect to provide for them, abuse them, expose them, prefer the body before the soul, and wrong the soul to please the body.
2. The wisdom of those that are willing, not only to be taught, but to be reproved: He that hears reproof, and amends the faults he is reproved for, gets understanding, by which his soul is secured from bad ways and directed in good ways, and thereby he both evidences the value he has for his own soul and puts true honour upon it.
- Matthew Henry Commentary
1 Kings 20:4
My lord, O king…I am thine, and all that I have.
Romans 12:1
Present your bodies a living sacrifice…which is your reasonable service.
What Ben-Hadad asked was absolute surrender; and what Ahab gave was what was asked of him – absolute surrender. I want to use these words: “My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have,” as the words of absolute surrender, with which every child of God ought to yield himself to his Father.
Absolute surrender – let me tell you where I got that word. I have used it myself often before, and you have heard it numberless times. But, ten days ago, in Scotland, I was in a company where we were talking about the condition of Christ’s Church, and what the great need of the Church and the of believers is. There was in our company a godly worker who has much to do in training workers, and I asked him what he would say was the great need of the Church, and the message that ought to be preached. He answered very quietly and simply and determinedly: “Absolute surrender to God is the one thing.”
The words struck me as never before. And that man began to tell how, in the workers with whom he had to deal, he finds that if they are sound on that point, even though they be backward, they are willing to be taught and helped, and they always improve; whereas, others who are not sound there very often go back and leave the work. The condition for obtaining God’s full blessing is absolute surrender to Him.
You know in daily life what absolute surrender is. You know that everything has to be given up to its special, definite object and service. I have a pen in my pocket, and that pen is absolutely surrender to my hand if I am to write properly. And now, do you expect that in your immortal being, in the divine nature that you have received by regeneration, God can work His work, every day and every hour, unless you are entirely given up to Him? – Andrew Murray.
In Wesley’s day the Bishop of London, hearing of their strange enthusiasm and open-air preaching, said: “Those young rawheads, what can they attempt?” Wesley’s reply was a noteworthy one: “We can attempt to be that in the hands of God that a pen is in the hands of a man.”
- The Christian’s Daily Challenge: E.F. & L. Harvey
In 1937, at the peak of the purge trials (when thousands of people were arrested, tortured into making false confessions, and shot), after the government-made famines (when hundreds of thousands of people died), and as literally millions were being sent to concentration camps, Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin was interviewed by Lion Feuchtwanger, a German anti-fascist but non-Communist author.
Stalin did the five things needed to fool a Western intellectual into supporting totalitarianism: he flattered Feuchtwanger; ensured his works were published and lavishly praised; professed devotion to social justice; attacked capitalism; and made sure he was well paid for his literary efforts.
Here’s some of what Feuchtwanger wrote after his interview with Stalin:
“Stalin…is extremely sincere and modest….He knows the needs of his peasants and workers, he is one of them….He gave the Soviet Union a new democratic constitution and has solved the nationalities problem….Soviet citizens have plenty of food, clothing, movies, and theaters….Scientists, writers, and actors live well in the Soviet Union….Writers who deviate from the general line are not oppressed….In the near future the Soviet Union will become the happiest and strongest country in the world.”
Feuchtwanger was a free man, not subject to Soviet law. He had been one of the most courageous in exposing the Nazis, forced to flee Germany for Paris. He could have been the model for the heroic Victor Laszlo in “Casablanca.” But he believed that supporting Stalin would promote social justice and fight evil political movements on the political far right. And if such behavior also benefited his own material interests, that was all the better.
One of Feuchtwanger’s points about the USSR’s glories is that “Soviet newspapers do not censor my articles,” which was understandable since they only praised the dictator and the regime.
Hence Feuchtwanger, like many Western intellectuals was so aware—and rightfully so, of course–of the sins of Nazism, was blind to those of Communism. In part, he believed that the existence of one evil justified his lying about people regarding another. In 1937 that was quite understandable given the size of that first evil. In 2009, however, the same philosophy–to tell the people only what those who think they know better believe will push them in the right direction–is still in force.
But he was no fool. When it came time to flee from the advancing Nazi army, he fled to America, not the USSR. But there was an East German postage stamp issued in his honor. If you wanted intellectual freedom America was the best bet; if you wanted intellectual prestige, Communism was the ticket.
The sin of anti-Communism, deterring opposition or honest evaluation by accusing those who spoke up of being a reactionary bourgeois supporter of imperialism, has been replaced by accusing someone of being guilty of Islamophobia, Political Incorrectness, or racism. Nonsense is defended by a wall of vituperation and ridicule.
Boris Bazhanov, whose extraordinary life is unfortunately largely forgotten today—as is true of most of those who exposed the true nature of Communism, while the apologists for it are celebrated–knew better than most about this subject. As a young man, this Ukrainian nationalist decided to infiltrate the Soviet leadership and even succeeded in becoming Stalin’s private secretary for several years during the 1920s. He defected in 1928 to France and survived two assassination attempts by his former boss. In 1978, a few years before his death by natural causes, he wrote:
“You know, as I do, that our civilization stands on the edge of an abyss…Those who seek to destroy it put forth an ideal. This ideal has been proven false by the experience of the last sixty years….If the West [develops its] confidence and unity, [it] can win the battle for our civilization and set humanity on the true path to progress….”
Communism’s failures, deceptions, and victims aren’t studied much nowadays in Western schools and universities, where fascism is presented as the sole evil totalitarianism in history, well maybe along with capitalism in many places. But it might be useful for students to know how both ends of the political spectrum—and not just the right-wing one—have their shortcomings. This might be especially important now that Western civilization is once again under assault.
Incidentally, while the Progressive movement of the early twentieth century was a beneficial liberal reform movement that produced such leaders as Theodore Roosevelt, by the 1930s the Communist Party in the United States, looking for a good cover label to conceal its attempts to take over liberalism and the Democratic Party, settled on the word “Progressive.” When the Communists formed a front political group in 1948 they called it the Progressive Party.
Oh, by the way, in the USSR during the Stalinist era they invented a term to describe when someone adhered to the regime’s line. It was called “political correctness.”
Today, however, instead of teaching young people to be wary of both extremes in politics; to know how ideals like social justice can be manipulated by tyrants and demagogues; and to see that the Federalist Papers, Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights have far more wisdom and valid prescription than all the works of Marxism or “liberation theology” and various other contemporary far left nostrums, the implicit doctrine conveyed is that there can be no enemies on the left. After all, what could possibly be worse than George W. Bush, slavery, and the internment of Japanese in America during World War Two?
See how much you learn when you study real history? See how much you don’t learn when you don’t?
Job – on Immortality
Job 14:7
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Job reasoned that a tree seems to have more hope than a man. When a tree is cut down it will sprout again and grow into another, but when man is cut down, where is he? [v 7-10].
Job expressed the idea that man gives up the ghost – his body lies down and does not rise till the heavens be no more [v 10-12].
He asked God to hide him in sheol until His wrath was past, and then set a fixed time to remember him again [v 13].
Attempts have been made to use such a passage to prove that there is no hell, that men become extinct at death, and that the soul sleeps; but nothing like this is stated here. It is only the body that lies down, sleeps and goes back to dust [Gen. 13:19; Eccl. 3:19-21]; the ghost or inner man leaves the body at physical death [Jas. 2:26].
The statement that man will not rise till the heavens be no more, proves that the ancients believed in a continued existence after death and that they would be raised again in due time [v 12].
Wishing that God would hide him in sheol, and keep him there in secret for a time [until His wrath was past], then appoint a set time to remember him again, is proof that Job believed in a separation of the inner man from the body, in the inner man going to sheol, and in the set time of the resurrection of the dead [v 13].
The fact that he asked the question – shall he live again? – gives evidence of faith in a future resurrection. So also the statement of waiting until his change would come is proof of his faith in the resurrection [v14].
All of this is in perfect harmony with truth as seen in notes listed under ‘Hell’ and ‘Immortality’ in Index [Dake A.R.B.].
- Dake A.R. Bible: page 425
1. He uses every conceivable means to hold men in subjection to himself and keep them from turning to God. If he fails in this, he tries to kill the believer’s testimony and ruin his influence for God.
2. If one falls he tries to make him stay fallen or commit suicide. He endeavours to cause men to end their lives by insisting it is the best way out; but he hides the true fact that this will be only the beginning of real torment in eternal hell.
3. Satan tries to get others in a luke-warm condition and if he succeeds, urges them to stay in the condition so that God will cut them off
in the end.
4. He dares men to do many things which they would not do under ordinary circumstances, and men are foolish enough to think they are not brave if they do not accept his dares.
5. Makes people think they are missing everything in life if they do not go into all kinds of sins, which in the end, will damn their souls.
6. Emphasizes sin and sinful pleasures as innocent enjoyment.
7. Stirs unholy passions in men and women causing them to throw away all restraint and live a life of revelry.
8. Tries to make people think there is no joy in serving the Lord. This is one of his greatest errors. Serving Christ and winning souls who will be thankful forever, pay the greatest dividends and afford the greatest pleasures known.
9. Preaches to the diligent in business that he needs to take all his time for getting rich before serving the Lord, while the fact is that if one will truly serve the Lord, he can be abundantly prosperous with God’s help.
10. Urges churches and their leaders to make religion a paying proposition by appealing to the rich and influential through lowering the standards of holy living, making salvation easy for all, compromising essentials of the faith, feeding the sheep messages on current events and book reviews instead of the infallible Word of God.

This is a very good article. Those who are still single may learn something from this article….
Those who are already married may take it as a guideline to improve your marriage….
DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?
During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, “How do I know if I married the right person?”
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, “It depends. Is that your husband?” In all seriousness, she answered “How do you know?”
Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it’s weighing on your mind.
Here’s the answer.
EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies.
Falling in love with your spouse wasn’t hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn’t have to DO anything. That’s why it’s called “falling” in love… Because it’s happening TO YOU.
People in love sometimes say, “I was swept of my feet.” Think about the imagery of that __expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.
Falling in love is easy. It’s a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria of love fades. It’s the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse’s idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts.
The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.
At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, “Did I marry the right person?” And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.
Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work,a
hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.
But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I’m not saying that you couldn’t fall in love with someone else. You could.
And TEMPORARILY you’d feel better. But you’d be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):
THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT’S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.
SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It’ll NEVER just happen to you. You can’t “find” LASTING love. You have to “make” it day in and day out. That’s why we have the __expression “the labor of love.” Because it takes time, effort, and energy . And most importantly, it takes WISDOM . You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.
Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.
Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It’s a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable. ..you can “make” love.
Love in marriage is indeed a “decision”.. . Not just a feeling .
Remember this always
“God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.”
