Revelation 2:14
Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel.
Balaam observed the letter of God’s law, but utterly violated the spirit of it. He was not allowed to curse. He blessed in words, but at the same time he counseled Balak how to induce these people to sin, so that they might be cursed.
He is an outstanding illustration of an attempt to divorce religion from morality. His religion was intellectual and outward, not moral and inward. It never reached his heart and conscience, it never touched his spirit. His prevailing motive was the lust of gain. He gave God’s blessing in words, but brought God’s curse through inducing them to sin [Num. 25:1-9].
So we come to the last chapter in Balaam’s story. ‘Let me die the death of the righteous,’ he had said, but he was not prepared to live the life of the righteous.
Moses’ last achievement was to stamp out idolatry and sensual sin, and we read that ‘Balaam also they slew with the sword’ [Num. 31:8]. He knew the truth, but was not obedient to it.
So, again and again through the Bible we have the story of Balaam referred to – in Joshua chapters 13 and 24; in Nehemiah 13; in 2 Peter 2; in the Epistle of Jude, and in the Revelation.
And it can all be summed up by that message to the Church at Pergamos: ‘But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel.’
A man who accepted the authority of God, who knew what was his duty; but when temptation came, instead of at once casting it on one side, he dallied with it, and one by one the checks and restraints which God had put in his way to hedge him about and to keep him in the path of His will, were broken down. – Howard W.K. Mowll: Lessons From Balaam, 1948.

WHAT IS PROPHECY?
This book that we call the Bible actually consists of 66 different books that were assembled over the better part of 2,000 years. They were penned by more than 40 writers, most of whom did not even know each other. Yet as we examine these 66 books, we discover that we have in our possession an integrated message system in which every detail is anticipated by deliberate, skillful design. This does not simply mean that there’s a theme of the Old Testament that is fulfilled in the New Testament. Far greater than that, we discover that every detail, every number, every place name, even the structure hidden beneath the text evidences a master plan and master design that goes vastly beyond the knowledge of any of its contributors. It anticipates events, places, and historic episodes that the authors had no way of knowing thousands of years in advance.
This master plan is the fingerprint of the real Author, God Himself, and it demonstrates that the origin of these 66 books came from outside our time domain. This is what we are dealing with when we talk about prophecy. Prophecy is not just a curiosity. It is a demonstration that God is real, that He cares, and that He has chosen to reveal to us in advance what He is all about, what His plan is for the world, and what His plan is for you and me personally - and it’s all in the Bible in one integrated package.
This integrated package consists of two parts: the Old and New Testaments. The New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed; the Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed. The Old Testament closes with unfulfilled yearnings, unfulfilled prophecies and incomplete promises. The New Testament completes the Old Testament and ties it all together.
Further, Jesus gave us a guiding principle with regard to scripture that is often overlooked. Jesus said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5: 17-18). That phrase refers to a “jot,” the smallest Hebrew letter about the size of an apostrophe, and a “tittle,” the little decorative hook or serif on some Hebrew letters. So Jesus was saying that not the smallest letter or even the smallest part of a letter shall pass away until all is fulfilled. The Messiah Himself underscores that we are to take the Word of God very seriously.
By the reckoning of some, the Scriptures include 8,362 verses containing 1,817 predictions concerning more than 700 different matters. Of these, there are more than 300 prophecies dealing with the coming Messiah. The odds of one person fulfilling just eight of those prophecies is equivalent to covering the state of Texas with silver dollars two feet deep, marking just one of the silver dollars, mixing them up in such a way that the marked coin could be anywhere, and then reaching back in at random and drawing out that one marked silver dollar. Obviously, that would be pretty unlikely! Even more astonishing is the fact that Jesus fulfilled, not just eight, but all of the hundreds of prophecies about the Messiah.
Throughout the Bible we find the fingerprints of a supernatural message system. Numerous design features in the Biblical text defy coincidence and demonstrate that the Bible is an integrated message system. Because God exists outside our space-time domain, He is able to see, in effect, the beginning and the end of our time domain simultaneously. Consequently, the Bible authenticates that its message is of extra-dimensional origin through predictive prophecy.
[Editor's Note: Chuck Missler's new book Prophecy 20/20 is a great resource for those who want to better understand where we are on God's timetable. Prophecy 20/20 examines Biblical prophecy past, present, and future. It discusses the nature of prophecy, the Biblical track record, assesses our current geopolitical situation, and clearly explains what the Bible says will happen in the last days.]

While prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah are well-known, many Christians know little about the shorter prophetic books of the Old Testament. The books written by Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, and Malachi may be infrequently read, but are nonethless powerful voices from men through whom the Spirit of God breathed. The following overviews of each of these books will hopefully inspire further study.
Habakkuk:
Habakkuk was probably a priest before he was called as a prophet - at about the same time as Jeremiah. He thus was also a contemporary of Daniel and wrote in the declining days just prior to the Babylonian captivity. He asked a question that most of us ask at some point: Why do bad things happen to good people? In fact, this is one of Habakkuk’s main themes. (This involves what is called “theodicy”: a defense of God’s goodness and omnipotence in a world of evil.) One of his most pivotal passages is:
This verse became the primary prompting of Martin Luther which led to the Reformation and which also appears as a unifying quotation in a “Trilogy” of Paul’s epistles:
1. Who are “the Just”? Paul answers that in Romans1:17.
2. How shall they “live”? Paul answers this in Galations 3:11.
3. “By faith!” Habakkuk declares. Paul focuses on this in Hebrews 10:38.
In fact, this quote immediately precedes the famous “Hall of Faith” of Hebrews 11! (This also is one of the reasons we believe Paul was the author of this unsigned epistle.)
Habakkuk’s book is not about being initiated by God into the ministry, but rather he is initiating a dialog with God about the ministry: he is the initiator and God is the responder. He starts out by wrestling with God and ends up worshiping Him.
Zephaniah:
Zephaniah was born in the latter reign of Manasseh (686-642 BC) (2 Kings 21:16), and had the honor of being the great-great-grandson of King Hezekiah. His name means, “whom the Lord hides (or protects).” While he was almost a contemporary of Habakkuk, Zephaniah’s focus, like Joel’s, is more distant as he deals with the Day of the Lord.
There are many fascinating hints in this tiny but remarkable book. Zephaniah describes the facts that in the end times, when Israel would be regathered in the land, there would be a return to pure Hebrew (Zeph 3:9), and that Ethiopia would ultimately bring the Messiah a special gift on Mt. Zion(Zeph 3:10; Isaiah 18). Zephaniah even hints at the Rapture in verse 2:3! (Cf. Isaiah 26:19-21.)
Haggai:
Haggai was the first of the post-exile prophets, and focuses on the rebuilding of the Temple after the return from Babylon. (As does Zechariah on a more visionary level; Haggai is more practical.) His focus is that work is the measure of life (Hag 1:8, 14; 1 Cor 15:58).
His audience was the believing remnant. They were the right people, living in the right place, wanting to do the right work, and for the right reasons. (Does that sound like us?) But their priorities were not right. They were caught up in their own pursuits, living for themselves rather than for God’s glory. (Ouch! Does that also sound like us?)
Malachi:
We sometimes jokingly call this the “Italian prophet” (by mispronouncing his name, accenting the second syllable), but this last book of the Old Testament also features a post-exile prophet. This book, among other things, includes one of the most fascinating personal challenges found in the Bible.
Several times in the Scriptures, Jesus emphasizes that we are not to “test” God (Deut 6:16). In fact, this issue is included among the famed “temptations” of Christ (Matt 4:7; Luke 4:12). Yet, here we find an astonishing exception, where God actually dares us to put Him to a test!
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” -Malachi 3:10
Here the Divine Ruler of the Universe puts Himself “into a box” of commitment and dares us to “prove Him now herewith” by accepting His challenge! It is the answer to all financial problems, if we will but take advantage of this audacious promise. This book closes the Old Testament record with a prophecy of a return “in the spirit of Elijah,” and ushers in the 400-year period that scholars call the “silent years” between the testaments. The New Testament opens with John the Baptist, the person that ends the Old Testament (Matt 11:13; Luke 16:16.)
In addition to the various topical excursions encountered within these pithy books, our commentaries also include a number of discursive addenda: The Myth of “the Ten Lost Tribes;” Ezekiel’s Mysterious 430 Years; and Rapture Models in the Old Testament, and more. The Holy Spirit always rewards the diligent. Good hunting!

Behold, am I a God that is afar off, and not a God this is near? For in the midst of difficulties, I will be thy support.
In the darkness, I am thy light; yea, there is no darkness that the world can produce that can hide My face from the eye of faith.
My beauty and My radiance are all the lovelier by the contrast.
In grief, My comfort is the more poignant. In failure, My encouragement the most welcome. In loneliness, the touch of My presence, more tender.
Yea, thou art hid in Me; and I will multiply both the wisdom and the strength in due proportion to meet the demands of every occasion.
I am the Lord Thy God. I know no limitations. I know no lack. I need not reserve My stores, for I always have a fresh supply.
Thou canst by no means ever exhaust My resources. Let thy heart run wild. Let thine imagination go vagabond. No extravagance of human thought can ever plumb the depths of My planning and provision for My children.
Rejoice, therefore, and face each day with joy; for I have planned ahead for thee, and made all necessary arrangements and reservations.
I am thy guide and benefactor. Put your hand in Mine.
Many people may not realize that there are at least three prophets in the Old Testament that were called specifically to prophesy regarding the Gentiles. Obviously, most of the Bible deals with history - both past and future - through the “lens” of Israel. But there are three short books that focus on Gentile history and each has specific application to you and me today.
Two of them were from Galilee! (The wag in John 7:52 hadn’t done his homework…)
“They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.” -John 7:52
Both Jonah and Nahum came from the Galilee area: in fact, Capernaum (Caper Nahum) means the “Village of Nahum.”
The Biggest Miracle:
Perhaps one of the biggest miracles in the Old Testament is in the Book of Jonah - and it wasn’t the big fish story! God called Jonah to minister to Nineveh, which had served as the capital of the world for several centuries. It was the enemy of Israel, and Jonah was not attracted to the assignment until God explained it to him a bit more clearly!
When Jonah finally did go there, he didn’t present a polished, “seeker friendly” sermon! God had declared that the city was 40 days from being destroyed. Jonah went through town proclaiming, “Forty days and you get yours!” He was hoping they would get wiped out. In fact, his biggest fear was that God might have mercy (he went up on a hill and pouted when God did spare them).
It is interesting that Jonah didn’t preach repentance. He simply announced their impending doom. It is astonishing to realize that within those 40 days, the king speculated that, just maybe, if they repented God might change His mind. They did, and God did. From the king on down, they put on sackcloth (the traditional ritual for repentance). They even put sackcloth on the cattle!
The repentance of Nineveh is astonishing when you think about it. Forty days from “ground zero.” And they were given another century.
When Nations Die:
Nations and empires actually do have “life cycles.” This has been studied by many historians throughout the years and they all have come to about the same conclusion: a lifetime of about two centuries. Nations all seem to go through the same life cycle: “from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependence back again into bondage.” - Alexander Tyler, 1750
Where are we in this cycle? We, too, have gone from bondage to spiritual faith; from faith to great courage which established our precious liberty, which, in turn, has given us unprecedented abundance that has made us the envy of the world. That abundance, however, has led to complacency and apathy. If you ask the average person, “What is the biggest problem in America? Is it ignorance or is it apathy?” They will probably respond, “I don’t know; and I don’t care!”
This apathy will ultimately lead to dependency and then return us to the very bondage that this nation was founded to deliver us from. Robert Bork was right when he said:
“The only hope for America is a grass roots revival.”
Slouching Toward Gomorrah:
Is America ripe for judgment? Billy Graham quipped many years ago, “If God doesn’t judge America He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!”
Thomas Jefferson summed it up well in 1781 when he said, “I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; and that His justice cannot sleep forever.”
The story of Nineveh in The Book of Jonah is the only case I am aware of in which this typical cycle was broken! They were given an additional century, until another prophet from Galilee had to announce their fall! The Book of Nahum was, literally, Ninevah’s final chapter.
Israel’s Enemies:
The enemies of Israel are in the front pages of every newspaper and newscast. It may surprise you to learn that they are also summarized - and prophesied over - in the shortest book of the Bible: The Book of Obadiah.
Although specifically directed against Edom, the scope of this little book may surprise you. In fact, our review of this book covers far more than simply some ancient tribal animosities:
•What is the prophetic role of Ammon, Moab, and Edom (now known as Jordan)?
•Why do they escape the rule of the Antichrist?!
•What is the purpose of the Great Tribulation?
•Where does Jesus return? On the Mount of Olives? Or in Bozrah?
To find out more, listen to our audio commentaries on these not-so-minor prophets. God always rewards the diligent. Good hunting!

O My child, have I ever failed thee? Have I ever turned My back upon thee, or forsaken thee? Have I not been thy refuge and thy strong defence?
I have protected thee and kept thee in sickness and in health. Yea, I am with thee to help thee now. Fear not. My purposes will be fulfilled in spite of thy weaknesses, if in thy need ye rely on My strength.
My will shall be done regardless of the flaws in thy life, if ye count upon the power of My righteousness. I do not work only in cases where there are no obstacles; but I glory in over-ruling the prevailing circumstances, and I take pleasure in bringing victories in those places where no victory is anywhere in sight.
Reckon upon My coming. Know that whenever faith brings Me on the scene, everything is changed. Darkness is turned to light. Grief is turned to joy. Sickness to health. Poverty to My sufficient supply. Doubt to faith. Anxiety to trust.
No negative force can occupy the same place as My spirit, When My Spirit comes in, all these things must go. Yea, they shall go!
Ask for the victory. I will come and bring it. Don’t look for the victory – look for Me, and ye shall see the victory that I shall bring with Me.
After I have come, ye shall behold the miracles that I will do.
Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down. [Dake].
Behold, it is coming, and it will be done; says the Lord your God; that is the day of which I have spoken; the calamity too great to be lamented, so great that you should be moved to silent despair.
The day does not befall you and catch you unaware, but I have give you notice of it’s impendence. When the desire of your eyes, your loved one, is taken away with a stroke you must see and own My hand in it; for I take away the desire of your eyes.
You must deny yourself by not mourning, though you be ill-thought of for not honoring your loved one, easing the heartache of your spirit in the lamentation of the dead: neither shall you eat the bread of man, you shall surely refuse it.
As I command you, you shall diligently obey, for you are called upon to exercise an extra-ordinary price of self-denial with absolute self control. This shall be a sign unto a great number of people that if a faithful servant of Mine is so afflicted in his trial, how much more shall the calamities be that come upon the rebellious so swiftly that they will be stupefied.
For too long have I held My peace, constraining My rage; and yet constantly pleading, convicting with My Spirit, sending My word by My messengers, until I spoke so loudly with the rod of My affliction that it no longer became necessary to speak by My word.
Yet, the bowels of My compassion are moved within Me, for with deep sorrow I earnestly remember you, who once loved Me, who trembled at My presence, walking closely to Me, with hearts bowed in humbleness, seeking to please Me with earnestness of spirit and unrestrained zeal.
How I weep, My tears running down like a river, as a Father weeping for the loss of an only son, a son who forgot his first love, turning away as inevitably as autumn precedes winter, growing lukewarm and finally cold and O, so distant; with each drop in the temperature as yet another piercing, agonizing jar upon My heart, inflicting deeper pain; the sorrow of a valuable lost soul.
Know that to the extent that you have silently mourned for your loved one, My mourning far exceeds and outweighs, beyond human understanding, your sorrow. For the blood of My Son is trampled upon; and He must endure the shame and humiliation of being crucified, afresh. THE INDIGNITY OF THE DIGNITY suffered and relived in each agonizing moment, and as I, as a witness, do behold the terrible deed.
Yet he, that was so near to Me, and now so far, transgressed more and more, conscience seared and mind reprobate, persecuting My righteous ones. Multiplying delinquencies and pursuing with the sword of bitterness even his own house, and his own brothers; Driven by a root of bitterness, from which all the wickedness of the wicked spring forth.
Corrupting his compassions, casting off all pity, as his anger tore perpetually and his wrath he kept and heeded forever, his tender mercies cruel and without pity. He flatters himself in his own eyes, rushing headlong into sin; leaving off being wise and thinking that he does well; insolently defying Me with nonchalance. The last spark of virtue extinguished, convictions baffled and with good beginnings coming to an end; Devising evil and mischief and encouraging others to participate, taking pleasure in others being as evil as him.
Violating My covenant, with no fear in them for My awe and majesty and not dreading My wrath, impervious in self-complacency and hardened to a sense of repentance in willful stubbornness. Yes, I know him and recognize him from afar, his secret things discovered, the intensity of his hatred, the carefully contrived lies and deceit.
Yes, no detail has escaped Me, even though he thinks I have not seen him and do not acquaint Myself with, and know his ways, deceived in his own conceit.
Though I have been silent long, I will surely avenge My elect; I will not reverse the punishment or revoke My word concerning it.
Therefore, son of man, I take away the desire of your eyes with one stroke; that you may be a witness to My people.
Despair in silence, for in your secret heart you know that I must follow through with just cause, for the day of provocation has earned the consequences to be exacted according to the scales of justice, measured out with precision in exact proportion, says the Lord. - Sage
Prophetic Word by the Spirit of Grace Isaiah 30:1, 2, 7
Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of Me; and that cover with a covering, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin.
That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at My mouth: to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt.
For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore I have cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
One of the greatest detrimental factors influencing My children is fear; fear that paralyzes and rouses a frenzy of activity in their mind, when confronted with danger, threats, loss of their homes, a violent spouse, children that are out of control, retrenchment, sickness, disease, or any matter that they are unable to master immediately.
The uppermost question remains unchanged all these thousands of years; Who will help? Upon whom can we rely? Who can we call? Who has the capacity to assist? Where can we go in this time of trouble?
Yea, there is One who can help you, not partially, but completely and to the uttermost; One Who knows the beginning from the end.
To trust in the strength of man will be to your shame and confusion; inadequate and incapable to help or shield you; as written in My Word above, clearly indicating such.
To flee to man for help is futile, adding sin to sin: sins do not stand alone; when one sin is committed it generally requires others to cover the first one and carry it out.
I am a stronghold in the time of trouble, a very present help in the time of need; I am able to run to assist you, when you call upon My Name.
In moments like these, when you feel that your entire world is crumbling round about you, and all hope is lost in whatever situation you find yourself, your strength is to sit still.
Sit still, do not act rashly, for thereby you may court disaster and destroy yourself and those that are with you.
I hear the prayerful whisper, the silent plea for help, for it is written: Look to Me and be saved, from the ends of the earth; Call unto Me, and I will answer you. Yes, with the finger of My Hand I will reach down from My Holy Sanctuary and save you from your distresses and sorrows.
I have the answer for your particular situation: fear not, for I am with You, I will take you by the hand and lead you out of danger; out of the perilous darkness which threatens to overwhelm you.
Set your mind at ease, and SIT STILL, wait for My counsel; for those who wait upon Me will never be ashamed; behold, I am the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for Me? - Sage
My silver haired saints, more valuable than gold and precious diamonds, a diadem of beauty in My Hands, crowned with tender mercy and loving kindness.
With tender compassion and unfathomable love I watch over you, fiercely guarding your life, surrounding you with My angels who keep vigil, ever alert in readiness against any attack of any magnitude.
I know that the years have been long, for I bore you from the womb, being with you when you walked through the valley of the shadow of death; My rod and staff comforted you.
Over the hills, conquering the mountains, fearlessly and valiantly serving Me under heavy bondage, ever pressing forward, toward the mark of the High Calling.
When you wept, I wept; when you were afflicted, I was afflicted, and I sent the Angel of My Presence to save you and deliver you.
Constantly you are assailed with thoughts of death, heart trembling with fear, waking and sleeping, sitting and rising.
Why, why do you allow your mind to be so occupied by the angel of death?
Have I not declared that I will bear you and carry you; and when your time comes to depart, I will give you the grace to die, even as I have given you the grace to live?
Then you will be prepared to come, joyfully, and willingly, and I, even I, will send the Angel of My Presence to gently lift and carry you into Abraham’s bosom.
Nevertheless, fear not, for to Me belongs the issues of death, and you will not die, but live, to declare My Works to the uttermost corners of the earth.
I will not relinquish you to death now, as I have need of you………
Yes, I know the journey of Life has wearied you; the eyes see dimly and the molars are ground down. Strength daily failing, limbs weakening, desires subdued, tasks onerous;
And when twilight falls, faintness of heart, in fear of the terror that stalks the night; sleep evasive, like an illusive butterfly.
I have need of you, for the TRUMP OF WARNING HAS SOUNDED IN ALL THE CORNERS OF THE WORLD, sounding the alarm! Calling forth My intercessors, and especially My grey-haired saints who are seasoned in prayer and travailing.
My pillars, My prayer’s, whose fervent effectual prayers avail much in the raging spiritual warfare dominating the heavenly places.
Yes, I have need of you, for surely I will renew your strength in this time; strength to go in and go out as in the days of your youth, regenerated and quickened by the Power of My self-fulfilling Word.
I cannot relinquish you to death, for the most important part of your life’s work now looms upon the horizon, and, as it is written, THE LAME WILL TAKE THE PREY.
Yes, in your secret chamber, My Spirit will teach you, with unutterable groaning’s, what to pray for, and be not alarmed at the incredible and vast extent of your prayers;
There will be no restrictions or borders, no distance or limitations in the spiritual realm to prevail against you.
By dreams and visions I will reveal situations requiring effective, fervent prayer and fasting.
Take hold of My strength, the strength that fails not, and know that the demon realm trembles, they that would presume to deceive and weaken you in attitude.
Your strength and power will remain constant; believe not the enemy who would whisper otherwise;
For you are perpetually growing in grace and shall still bring forth fruit in your old age, full of sap and spiritual vitality rich in the verdure of trust, love and assurance of My Presence;
You, My silver haired saints, My Prayer warrior’s, are living memorials attesting to My Uprightness and Faithfulness to My Promises; and with long life will I satisfy you and show you My Salvation. - Sage
Isaiah 53:2
For (the Servant of God) grew up before Him like a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground; He has no (royal, kingly pomp) form or comeliness that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.
Who has known sorrow as the sorrow of God as He witnessed the trial and ensuing crucifixion of His only begotten Son, Jesus.
Legions of angels, who were ready to intervene in a heart beat, were astonished – and a profound silence permeated the Heavens.
Yet no sign was forthcoming and the most singular act of bravery and love of the Man, Jesus, unfolded on the stage of earth. Unchallenged and unhindered, the fulfillment of the prophetic word revealed to the prophets by God, was enacted to the final scene until the curtain was let down.
One man, willingly giving His life for those that were, that are, and that are to come; in the plan of redemption, so long concealed from man finally revealed.
Imagine, for a brief moment, the prolonged agony of the Man of sorrows, as He was despised and rejected by man.
A man of sorrows and pains, acquainted with grief and sickness. His worth was not appreciated and He had no esteem, yet, with ignorance, He was considered stricken, smitten and afflicted by God.
He has borne our griefs, sickness, weakness and distress and carried our sorrows and pains. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement necessary to obtain peace and well being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes that wounded Him, WE ARE HEALED AND MADE WHOLE.
All we like sheep have gone astray, turning our own way; the Lord has made to light on Him the guilt and iniquity of us all.
The most startling fact that emerges is His Silence, even as the Courts of Heaven were Silent, He opened not His Mouth, but maintained submissiveness when He was oppressed and afflicted.
He poured out His life to death; He let Himself be regarded as a criminal and be numbered with the transgressors – yet He bore and took away the sins of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.
Come, enter into the Silence of the Courts of Heaven, and reflect upon the magnitude of that which has been done to give you access to the Ancient of Days, and the gifts which He so willingly gives, in love, to you.- Sage
